Ricoh offers more options for post-processing with the acquisition of Albyco

Ricoh Netherlands, January 3, 2024 – The acquisition of Albyco by Ricoh ensures that print professionals have access to even more post-processing options. Eef de Ridder, Vice President Graphic Communications Group at Ricoh Europe, is pleased to welcome Albyco to the Ricoh family: “We continue to invest in acquisitions that provide further growth and differentiation, and also truly add value for our customers worldwide.”

Albyco, based in Oosterhout, specializes in finishing equipment for a wide range of digital printing products such as communication printing and applications in labels, sign and packaging. By integrating Albyco’s expertise, Ricoh broadens its portfolio of end-to-end printing solutions. Print professionals benefit from even more post-processing options.

Strategic acquisition strengthens innovative power

This strategic acquisition is fully in line with the pursuit of continuous innovation. It enables Ricoh to offer a more extensive portfolio across Europe, with more options for post-print printing. Albyco customers get direct access to Ricoh’s entire graphics portfolio, so that they too can grow successfully.

With this acquisition, Ricoh once again confirms its focus on print professionals in the rapidly changing market, and the leading role that Ricoh also plays in this.

Albyco employees strengthen the existing expertise and capabilities at Ricoh. Albyco director Jos van Uum will remain at his post and continue working on Albyco’s growth. Customers can continue to count on support and further expansion of the possibilities thanks to the integration of the Albyco portfolio into the Ricoh portfolio.

Growing need for end-to-end integrated solutions

Eef de Ridder is enthusiastic about the takeover: “We are once again strengthening our innovative power, which is further helping the sign and graphics market. We call this HENKAKU, the Japanese word for transformative innovation. We see an increasing demand for high-quality post-processing options in, for example, large format and inkjet and toner printing. Customers are looking for end-to-end integrated solutions. That is why Albyco, with its excellent reputation and extensive experience, is such a good asset to the Ricoh family. Both parties benefit from this joining of forces.”

Jos van Uum, director of Albyco, adds: “We are pleased to join forces with Ricoh and contribute our expertise to the success of a company that has a reputation to uphold when it comes to technological progress and customer-oriented solutions. . This collaboration offers enormous opportunities for synergy and innovation, allowing us to offer customers even more added value. We have found the best partner in Ricoh to support both our customers and our employees in this next phase of development.”

Leading position in rapidly changing market

The acquisition of Albyco is part of the broader growth strategy with which Ricoh is gaining a leading position in the constantly changing sign and graphics market.

Ricoh remains convinced of its vision, in which transforming the way people work ensures that everyone can fully realize their potential and creativity. In this way we work together towards a sustainable future. In 2022, Ricoh acquired Quadient’s graphics activities in the Nordic region (Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway) to broaden its portfolio of finishing options and strengthen the distribution of its large format printing systems in this region.
