Quadient (Euronext Paris: QDT), a leader in helping businesses create meaningful customer connections through digital and physical channels and a major global parcel locker operator, announced today the availability of Parcel Pending by Quadient Drop Box lockers has expanded to North America and Europe.

Parcel Pending’s Drop Box is a fully integrated parcel locker for retailers and carriers that automates returns and pickups of packages, with an optional built-in ability to print shipping labels. Quadient unveiled the Drop Box in February in the UK, where one of the country’s largest parcel delivery companies, Evri, became the first carrier to offer it to users of Quadient’s open locker network in that region. The Drop Box is now available across North America and Europe and offers increased locker capacity in a smaller footprint and a printer to more effectively manage the high volume of returns in the market.

“Efficiently managing returns is a critical component of retail and carrier strategies and we’re excited to be offering the new Parcel Pending Drop Box locker across North America and in Europe to help retailers and carriers maximize operational efficiency and improve the customer experience through this enhanced, self-service returns option,” said Benoit Berson, chief solution officer, Parcel Locker Solutions, Quadient. “Backed by years of experience providing parcel lockers in the US, UK, France and Japan, Quadient is committed to driving innovation and remaining an established leader in smart parcel lockers.”

The Drop Box holds more packages, optimizing space. A sensor inside the Drop Box alerts operators when it’s nearing capacity and the consolidation of packages makes the collection process quicker and easier for retailers and carriers. Additionally, the printer offers a convenient, self-service option for consumers and reduces the time carriers spend on printing and affixing labels, as well as easing the collection process for retailers. Parcel Pending by Quadient’s accompanying software captures each step of the return process in an audit trail and provides business intelligence insights, such as locker availability, box size usage and customer pickup times.

More than 18,500 Parcel Pending by Quadient parcel locker systems are installed worldwide, supporting retailers, carriers, higher education institutions and commercial and multifamily residential properties.
