Melville, NY (Nov. 5, 2021) —The National Breast Cancer Foundation reports that 1-in-8 women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime.1 Canon U.S.A. would like to applaud KDI Office Technology, an authorized dealer, for hosting a successful event for breast cancer awareness on Sept. 23 in South Jersey to help combat a disease that affects both men and women.

KDI’s third annual Golf Outing Charity Event, named the Pink Ball outing, raised $70,000. The proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative, an organization Canon sponsors.

Since 2018, KDI, a family-owned and independent office technology provider in the mid-Atlantic region, has donated more than $160,000 in support of breast cancer awareness.

“The Pink Ball Golf event was very important in regards to breast cancer awareness, and we are thankful to all our contributors who helped support our event,” said Rick Salcedo, president and CEO of KDI.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On Oct. 17, Canon employees, along with their families and friends, walked at the Long Island Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event held at Jones Beach State Park in New York. This event was one of the largest walks that took place around the nation during the month of October.

“We congratulate KDI on hosting a great event for such a worthy cause,” said Mason Olds, senior vice president and general manager, Canon U.S.A. Inc. “KDI’s values embody Canon’s Kyosei philosophy of seeing all people, regardless of culture, customs, language or race, harmoniously living and working together in happiness into the future.”
