Pulse Technology’s VCIO Kyle Sallmen named to national magazine ENX “Difference Maker” list; one of a select group of professionals nationwide to be honored

SCHAUMBURG, IL, Issued May 13, 2025… Pulse Technology (https://pulsetechnology.com), a technology company serving the IT, Managed Print Services and other needs of businesses throughout the Midwest and beyond, announced today that company Virtual Chief Information Officer (VCIO) Kyle Sallmen has been named to the coveted “Difference Maker” list by the national trade journal ENX Magazine (www.enxmag.com).

Each year, ENX Magazine solicits peer and industry recommendations for the people who are making a difference in the industry. The ENX annual “Difference Maker” list appears on the ENX website (www.enxmag.com) and is published in their May 2025 issue.

Sallmen is the VCIO (Virtual Chief Information Officer) at Pulse Technology –the front line person making sure that Pulse’s IT customers’ infrastructures run smoothly.  Working with clients across Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, he says, “My job is to be that client liaison, to ensure that our team delivers the results our clients need to be completely satisfied.”

Sallmen joined the Pulse team several years ago after a career in IT that includes working at a help desk, as well as serving as an IT project manager and IT director. Not all MSP firms have a VCIO on staff; Pulse Technology provides this additional level of service for their clients. Sallmen’s duties include conducting reviews with clients, serving as a project manager and working closely with Pulse’s IT technicians. He is actively involved with the clients, the IT team at Pulse, and the service/help desk.

He said, “I left internal operations to come into the MSP world. I transitioned out of being ‘the guy who uses the screwdriver to fix things’ to become a technical advocate. My role is to use a technical and engineering minset to guide, educate, consult and work as the captain between the IT team and the client.”

Erik Cagle, ENX editorial director, says, “The Difference Maker program is something of a unicorn in the industry, bringing together the best of the best from the dealer, manufacturer, distributor/supplier and software communities, along with other representatives who contribute to the industry.”

He continued, “We owe the success and notoriety of the Difference Maker recognition program to our readers. It’s the willingness of readers to invest time in painting a picture of the high-impact individuals in this industry that enables Difference Makers to carve out a niche. We are grateful for the efforts of our readers.”

Vince Miceli, Vice President of Technology Development at Pulse, said, “Managed Services (IT) is a critical part of the Pulse offerings, and having someone with a strong background in IT to serve as the frontline advocate for the clients we serve is very important to us. Kyle makes a big difference in how smoothly and efficiently our department operates.”

He added, “We are very pleased that Kyle has been selected as a Difference Maker, and we also congratulate the other people from our industry who have been chosen. We also are grateful to the ENX team for their advocacy for our industry.”
