Today’s design and construction professionals are under constant pressure to deliver faster, collaborate across distributed teams, and balance creativity with tight deadlines. At HP, we see these challenges every day, and we’re bringing new tools to help.
With the launch of the HP DesignJet T870 printer, expanded HP Build Workspace platform, and updates on HP SitePrint, we’re connecting physical and digital workflows like never before. From AI-powered vectorization to sustainable, space-saving printing, our latest innovations make it easier for architects, engineers, construction professionals, designers, and educators to focus on what matters most: shaping the world around us.
Smarter Printing for Hybrid Workspaces
The HP DesignJet T870 was built with today’s hybrid workstyles in mind. It’s a compact, versatile 24-inch device that combines high-quality output with sustainable design. This makes it ideal for AEC, education, and retail environments where teams rely on a single printer to do it all.
It’s up to 30% lighter, quieter, and more energy efficient than previous models.1 It also delivers the world’s easiest multi-size printing experience,2 from A4/A to A1/D, without manual media switching. And with the ability to produce an A1/D print in as little as 21 seconds,3 it helps teams keep pace with tight deadlines.
The printer also features HP Flex Tech Inks to deliver precise CAD drawings, vibrant visuals, and impactful signage. With HP Click Solutions,4 professionals can preview jobs in real time, catch errors before they happen, and send projects from virtually any device.
Connecting Physical and Digital Workflows
For many professionals, the hardest part of any project is bridging the gap between paper and digital. That’s where HP Build Workspace comes in.
First announced in 2024 and expanded with AI vectorization earlier this year, HP Build Workspace now includes mobile-enabled scanning and AI-powered vectorization directly from HP DesignJet MFPs (Multifunction Printers). This makes it easier than ever to digitize field sketches, convert legacy drawings into CAD-ready files, and share them instantly with collaborators.
By reducing manual drafting time by up to 80%,5 AI vectorization frees up valuable hours for higher-value design work. And with integrated collaboration tools like layer separation, markup, and centralized file sharing, teams can work seamlessly across offices, studios, and worksites.
Additionally, coming in 2026, HP Z Workstations users will be able to run AI vectorization jobs locally and complete them up to 2x faster than with cloud-based workflows.6
Unlocking next-level precision
HP is also introducing HP SitePrint SMR prism, a detachable accessory designed to deliver enhanced accuracy in layout and floor deviation marking. This innovative tool minimizes manual rework, streamlines operations, and gives construction professionals a powerful upgrade for next-level performance on the job site.
Sustainability and Security by Design
At HP, we believe sustainability and security are not optional. They are essential. The HP DesignJet T870 and Build Workspace reflect that philosophy, embedding both directly into the way professionals print, scan, and share.
The HP DesignJet T870 contains at least 45% recycled plastic and 10% recycled metal,7 ships in 100% polystyrene-free packaging,8 and offers features that can reduce energy use by up to 60%9 and cut ink consumption by as much as 95%10 during printhead maintenance.
And with HP Wolf Security built in, sensitive data stays protected. These solutions are designed to give teams peace of mind while helping them deliver sharper results, faster.
Shaping the Future of Design and Construction
The work of architects, engineers, construction professionals, and designers shapes the spaces where we live, work, and learn. Our job at HP is to make their work easier, faster, and smarter in order to help them focus on building the future.
With HP’s fully integrated, high-performance technology ecosystem—Z Workstations, DesignJet printers, SitePrint robotics, and Build Workspace software—every tool and every team works together, eliminating workflow gaps and ensuring accuracy at every stage.
These announcements advance our strategy to:
- Drive digital transformation across industries.
- Embed AI and automation into everyday workflows.
- Deliver sustainability and security as standard.
